Lukoil to build oil pipeline to port of Faw with 1.6 million barrels per day capacity

The Iraqi Oil Ministry announced that the Russian company Lukoil will build a pipeline to the port of Faw. Its capacity is 1.6 million barrels per day.

The Oil Minister Abdelkarim Laibi said: “the Russian company Lukoil will found a pipeline with a capacity of 1.6 million barrels per day; it arrives to Faw port in southern Iraq.

Laibi indicated that:”the pipeline runs from Touba warehouse of oil to Faw port “. He added: “another pipeline will be built which could raise the total capacity to 3.2 million barrels per day.”

On November 2013, the Oil Minister declared that Russian companies have an impact and important share in the development of our fields, especially Lukoil and Gazprom Kaz.
